At the December Commercial Cyber Forum we will have a presentation by Special Agent Steve Shepherd and Maryland InfraGard Chapter Vice President Fred Ferrer that will detail the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)’s InfraGard program. This will be followed by a short briefing by LaToya Staten, DBED's Cyber Collaboration Manager on the new Cybersecurity Investment Incentive Tax Credit Program.

More About InfraGard
The FBI's InfraGard program is a nation-wide critical information sharing and analysis effort serving the interests and combining the knowledge base of a wide range of members. Forum attendees will learn how the program aids in the defense in security of the nation by:

-increasing the level of information and reporting between its members and the FBI on matters related to 
 counterterrorism, cyber-crime and other major crime programs


- increasing interaction and information sharing regarding threats to critical infrastructures, vulnerabilities and
  interdependencies
- providing members value-added threat advisories, alerts and warnings
- promoting effective liaison with local, state and federal agencies

providing its members a forum for education and training

More About the Cybersecurity Investment Incentive Tax Credit
Maryland Department of Business & Economic Development (DBED) will begin accepting applications from qualified Maryland cybersecurity companies for the new Cybersecurity Investment Incentive Tax Credit on December 9, 2013. The program is funded at $3 million and offers a refundable tax credit to qualified Maryland cybersecurity companies that seek and secure investment from an in-state or out-of-state investor. The purpose of this new program is to incentivize and attract cybersecurity companies to start-up in or move to Maryland; and to attract investment to cybersecurity companies in order to help them grow, create jobs and retain intellectual property in Maryland.
