Our next Public Policy Forum will be held on Monday, January 20th and Maryland House Speaker Mike Busch is scheduled to attend. He will speak about his legislative priorities, the governor’s legislative priorities and his prognostications about the status of the House of Delegates after the next election.  Mike represents District 30 which includes the greater Annapolis area. He has been representing AACo since 1987.

Time permitting, we will review issues likely to come before the General Assembly which may include:
• Budget – shortfall and Major Information Technology Development Projects (MITDP)
• Minimum wage
• Health Benefit Exchange going forward
• Recreational marijuana
• February 25 filing deadline for state offices and the bearing on the session
• Tax cuts—estate tax? Inheritance tax? Corporate income tax?
• Rain tax revisions
