2nd Annual MD IT Day Showcase
Wednesday, February 24th
5:30pm-7:30pm

Governor Calvert House- 58 State Circle, Annapolis, MD

The first one was so successful, we decided to do it again!

The MD IT Showcase allows IT companies throughout the state of Maryland an opportunity to showcase their products and services to members of the Maryland General Assembly and other leaders in state government.  The purpose is to stay “top of mind” in Annapolis, to ensure they never forget our industry…who we are, what we do and the impact we have on the growth of this great State of Maryland.

Through a consortium of Maryland’s four leading technology associations –Greater Baltimore Technology Council (GBTC), Tech Council of Maryland (TCM), Chesapeake Region Tech Council (CRTC), and Maryland Computer Services Association (MCSA) – 30 IT companies (max) will take part in this private reception.

Register:
Exhibitors (“sponsorships”) will be limited to 30 IT companies on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Eligibility:  Only “tech” companies are eligible to attend/sponsor the MD IT Showcase-- afterall, this is about the IT industry.  Individual tickets to the event are not available for purchase.  Each sponsor will be provided three (3) tickets to the event and their attendees must be employees of the company.

Note:  The 2009 event sold out (well over 30 sponsors) and due to space limitations, sponsorships in 2010 will be limited to the first 30 IT companies that apply.  Exhibit Fee = $300.

Computer Sales Tax: Background

In 2008 the CRTC joined forces with multiple tech organizations to defeat the TECH TAX. We are proud to have been part of a major effort to inform lawmakers that a computer services tax is a bad idea. In the 2008 session the House of Delegates voted 93-44 to repeal the computer services tax.  Governor O'Malley signed it into law.  And that was that.

Never Again...

While we remain proud of the history, especially during these tough economic times we know the fight is never over. The CRTC is not a lobbying organization, however we do serve to connect our Members to the most relevant information and key opportunities to support their thriving technology-based businesses. To that end, we are proud to work with the Maryland Computer Services Association (MCSA), The Tech Council of Maryland (TCM) and the Greater Baltimore Tech Council (GBTC) to provide our Members with access to the most relevant information and opportunities to act in their own interest and on their own behalf to prevent a tech tax.

ACT NOW:

MCSA is working hard to make it easy for you to connect directly and make a big difflerence:

How many jobs did your company create last year? Tell your legislators!

Our leaders in Annapolis will judge all legislation this session against job creation.  Let your legislators know that IT is a strong job creator.  We are one of only two industries in Maryland that GREW last year.

Legislators LOVE to hear REAL STORIES from their constituents.  You would be surprised how valuable these messages are.  And it only takes a few to make a strong impression.

How many jobs did your IT company create last year?  How many might it create this year?

A quick note is all it takes.  And MCSA has made it easy for you.
