Chesapeake Regional Tech Council partners with local business organizations to present Cyber Risk Management for Professionals
ANNAPOLIS, MD – November 10, 2014 – The Chesapeake Regional Tech Council (CRTC) is proud to partner with multiple business organizations throughout the region to educate area businesses on how to protect themselves from cyber attacks.
Following the overwhelming success of an initial Cyber Risk Management for Professionals program produced last spring by the CRTC’s Workforce Development & Commercial Cyber Forum groups, the Council has welcomed area business organizations to partner on a follow up program scheduled for Tuesday, December 9th from 8:00-10:00am at AACC – Arundel Mills Campus Lecture Hall.
In this installment of the Cyber Risk Management for Professionals Series, five industry expert panelists will take a deeper dive into specific tools, training, legal and consulting services that are available to help professionals mitigate cyber risk. As high profile breaches such as Target and Home Depot become more frequent, no longer can individuals, businesses or government organizations claim immunity to the inherent risks of using technology or the activities of sophisticated malicious actors.
Confirmed panelists include Chad Caison of KEYW Corporation, John Leitch of Winquest Engineering Corporation, Brian Moran of Brimor Labs, Christina Wiegand of Telecommunication Systems and Howard R. Feldman, CIPP/US of Whiteford Taylor & Preston, LLP. The panel will be moderated by Michael Volk of the Cyber Center at Anne Arundel Community College.
The CRTC is pleased to partner with the following Chambers of Commerce and business organizations on this program: Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Chamber, Entrepreneur's Exchange, Greater Crofton Chamber, Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber, Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber, Southern Anne Arundel Chamber and West County Chamber. Members of these organizations can register for the December 9th program through their local organization.
According to Kris Shock, Executive Director of the CRTC, "The CRTC is pleased to leverage our members’ expertise to provide practical solutions that businesses of all sizes can implement today to reduce their risk of cyber attacks and data breach.”
Registration is required, as this event is space limited. To register visit www.chesapeaketech.org or event registration site for the partner organizations listed. For more information or questions, please contact Traci Denhardt at 410.630.8200 or Traci@chesapeaketech.org
