The Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation’s (AAEDC) VOLT Fund provides loans to qualified small and veteran/minority/women-owned businesses around Maryland. In 2015, the State of Maryland awarded AAEDC $1.8 million to assist small businesses around Maryland. Similar to the 2014-15 loan application round, AAEDC will distribute a majority of the funds to conventional small businesses but will set aside a portion to benefit entrepreneurs of emerging technology.
Loans to promising early stage companies are designed to help attract follow-on funding from venture capital firms, angel investors and other sources. Please visit the VOLT Fund's tech loan webpage for details.
AAEDC will join its VOLT Fund tech partners, the Chesapeake Innovation Center and bwtech@UMBC, in sponsoring this information session for prospective applicants. AAEDC Vice President of Finance Steve Primosch will give program basics and an application overview. In addition, a member of last year’s application review committee and a VOLT Fund awardee will share their thoughts on factors that can impact successful applications.
