Annapolis wireless communication company TeleCommunication Systems Inc. has received a delivery order from the U.S. Army worth up to $223 million over the next five years.
The initial funding for the contract is $9.9 million for a 12-month period that started in September. The value of the contract could grow to $223.4 million by September 2020 if all options are exercised.
Under the contract, TeleCommunication Systems will provide Micro Satellite Very Small Aperture Terminals, which will improve the military’s data connectivity in areas where geography makes communication difficult.
TeleCommunication Systems, the lead contractor, will work with subcontractors Tampa Microwave LLC and Klas Telecom.
