Crofton network security company Force 3 has been acquired by Sirius Computer Solutions Inc.

Under the deal, Force 3 will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of San Antonio-based Sirius and become the national IT company’s security services and federal contracting arm. Force 3 will remain in Crofton and is expected to retain all 170 of its employees, including CEO Mike Greaney. The deal is expected to close March 31. Terms were not disclosed.

Force 3 has $260 million in annual revenue.

The acquisition is a way for Force 3 to expand its offerings to its government clients, while broadening its reach in the commercial market, among Sirius’ clients.

“This acquisition really helps accelerate our growth and takes us to the next evolution of our company,” CEO Mike Greaney said in an interview.

Sirius said the deal will help it extend its reach into the mid-Atlantic.

Force 3 was founded in 1991 by Rocky Cintron and currently employs about 170 people. The company specializes in network security and threat intelligence for government clients.

Sirius’ team of engineers, robust IT offerings and reputation will strengthen Force 3’s position in the federal market, Greaney said.
