Chesapeake Regional Tech Council Alert: Special Event Next Wednesday to Address Growing Questions, Concerns around the Computer Services Sales Tax
Community Meeting for Info and Insights on the Computer Services Sales Tax and Maryland Tax Reform Act of 2007 will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6th, 8 to 10 A.M in Annapolis
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Jan. 31, 2008 – The Chesapeake Regional Tech Council today announced a special community meeting on the Computer Services Sales tax, organized amidst growing questions and concerns from the regional tech community about the new tax, its enactment and effects and about several new related bills recently introduced in the house and senate.
While not a direct lobbying group, the Chesapeake Regional Tech Council works to convey in-depth information and insights about top-of-mind technology issues. “The computer services tax has the potential to have a huge effect on our member companies,” said Michael Ryan, President of the CRTC and President of Annapolis-based South River Technologies. “We want to provide access to the latest information about the tax as it stands now; on the bills recently introduced and the likelihood, as it stands now, of those bills passing. We look to provide our membership and the technology community at large with an opportunity to dialogue about the potential impacts of this extremely important legislation.”
