The National Security Agency has added two area colleges to its feeder system for future cyber warriors.

The secretive code-cracking agency has designated Anne Arundel Community College and the U.S. Naval Academy as National Centers of Academic Excellence, a program by the NSA and U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Glen Burnie, MD. – June 18, 2010 – Vision Technologies, a leading IT Services company, today announced the winning a $5.3M contract to install copper and fiber optic telecommunication cabling, for the US Army Corps of Engineers, in support of the BRAC build out at Aberdeen Proving Grounds.  Vision’s work under this contract will consist of installing over 4 million feet of copper and fiber optic telecommunication cabling, from the existing ceiling-mounted zone panels through the systems furniture to desktop. This cabling will be installed in 8 new buildings being constructed in support of the BRAC initiative and continues the work that Vision Technologies performed in Phase 1 during the construction phase of these buildings.

David Troy, a Baltimore-area technology developer [and CRTC Board Member], doesn't usually work for free, but he gladly did so to create a way to turn ordinary voters into watchdogs and whistle-blowers.

His work helped enable the Twitter Vote Report, in which voters are urged to document any problems at the polls tomorrow on Twitter.com, the trendy online messaging service known for its short, quick communications.
