2016 Board Members

Executive Committee:

President: Jason Silva, ByteGrid

Jason Silva has over 17 years’ experience in Data Center Management and Information Technology. His experience includes the management and implementation of internet and intranet systems in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, government, and technology sectors. Jason joined ByteGrid in March of 2015 when his former company Sidus Data was acquired by ByteGrid. Jason was a Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Sidus. Jason main focus as Chief Technology Officer is building, supporting and advancing ByteGrid’s product portfolio as the most innovative information systems available to today’s enterprises. He has spoken extensively on the implementation of regulated cloud computing environments to national and international industry groups such as the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE) and Institute for Validation Technology. Mr. Silva has also participated and presented to the FDA’s cloud working group on the risk considerations and data integrity for regulated cloud deployments.

Vice President: Todd Marks, Mindgrub Technologies

Todd Marks is the teacher-turned-technologist and founder of Mindgrub Technologies, the first Innovation Technology Agency of its kind. Based in Baltimore, Mindgrub is a mobile, social and web applications consultancy, working with companies and organizations in a variety of industries to bring their brand to mobile. Mindgrub offers creative and technical services, a proprietary white-label location-based services, augmented reality, and mobile gaming framework.

Marks maintains status as Chief-Everything-Officer for the company. He leads information architects, user experience specialists, creative interface designers and top-notch developers to solve business and consumer challenges in rapid information transfer. Marks founded Mindgrub in 2002 to focus on the creation of web applications that enable instant information travel and has developed enterprise systems for a wide range of clients such as DELL, Yamaha, Adobe, Motorola, ORACLE, A&E, The Economist and Discovery Communications; Federal Agencies such as the FBI, NSA, VOA and the US Navy; and several education organizations such as MSDE, Wrox Press and O’Reilly Media.

Treasurer: Angela Chaney, CohnReznick 

Angela Chaney, CPA, is a senior manager in CohnReznick’s Tax Practice. Based in our Annapolis office, she has more than 19 years of experience in public accounting. She specializes in providing an extensive array of accounting and tax services to privately held businesses and their owners. Her clients include medical practices, law firms, and technology companies.  

Angela is responsible for client development, engagement management, and oversight and delivery of tax compliance filings.  She is also responsible for business and individual tax planning, as well as the development of strategies and solutions designed to address client tax risks.  She is dedicated to a high level of personal involvement in all of her engagements and works closely with her clients to provide advice and solutions tailored to each client’s specific needs.  In addition, Angela has extensive experience with QuickBooks.  She has created best practices for the Firm and advises clients on optimizing their financial reporting.  

Prior to joining the Firm in 2004, Angela operated her own practice, in which she performed accounting and administrative functions for not-for-profits, corporate and partnership entities, and individual clients. 

Secretary: Gregory Stone, Whiteford, Taylor & Preston

Greg Stone is a partner with the law firm of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP, where he serves as the Co-Chair of the firm's Technology and Intellectual Property Practice Group. That group represents clients ranging from individual inventors and small businesses to Fortune 500 companies in all aspects of technology and intellectual property matters across a wide spectrum of industries and technologies. His own practice focuses on patent prosecution, patent infringement & validity, intellectual property infringement and licensing, software licensing and E-commerce issues, and continues to develop particular substantive concentrations in areas of cyber security and clean energy technologies. Prior to starting his legal practice in 1996, Greg served as a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent & Trademark Office, and as a mechanical engineer for the Department of the Army.

Greg has been a guest lecturer at a variety of technical and legal conferences across the country, and is an active member of the American Bar Association and the Maryland Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Intellectual Property Owners Association. Greg received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park.

President Emeritus: Tim Lorello, Seculore Solutions

Tim Lorello is President & CEO of SecuLore Solutions, a Cybersecurity firm focused on solutions for our Public Safety Infrastructure.  Prior to founding SecuLore, Mr. Lorello was SVP & Chief Marketing Officer at TeleCommunication Systems (TCS), a NASDAQ company headquartered in Annapolis.  TCS was well known for its pioneering innovations benefiting Public Safety and spearheaded Regulatory (FCC) and Legislative activity to support the advancement of our 9-1-1 system. Mr. Lorello held a broad range of roles during the 21 years of his tenure at TCS, including SVP and GM of TCS’ Network Intelligence Division, responsible for the development and global deployment of messaging and location technology platforms for wireless operators on six continents.  As part of the C-suite, he was directly involved in raising capital for TCS, including a $10M mezzanine financing round in 1999; and his commercial expertise provided the foundation for TCS to become a publicly-traded company in 2000.  Prior to TCS, Mr. Lorello worked for 11 years at AT&T Bell Laboratories where he specialized in R&D for one of the world’s preeminent telephony switching platforms and the creation of AT&T’s Advanced Intelligent Network platform.   Mr. Lorello holds 20 patents and has an MSEE from Northwestern University and a BA in Physics from University of Chicago.
